Recap: Choctaw County Tigers vs. Southern Choctaw Indians
This season hasn't been kind to the Choctaw County Tigers, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 67-52 to Southern Choctaw. While losing is never fun, Choctaw County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 370th, while Southern Choctaw is ranked 123rd).
Marcionna Young was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 33 points and 10 rebounds for Southern Choctaw. The match was Young's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Keri Mcgee was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
The last time Choctaw County won on the road was back last Friday. Having now lost three straight away contests, they've bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Southern Choctaw, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Choctaw County will head out on the road to face off against Marion at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southern Choctaw, they will be playing at home against Leroy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
