Basketball Recap: Furtah Prep Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Furtah Prep hadn't done well against Heritage recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Furtah Prep Falcons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-49 win over the Heritage Hawks. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Heritage's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Mead, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds. Mead is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last 14 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Barron Ofosu-Kwarteng, who posted ten points and five boards.

Furtah Prep's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.6 points over those games. As for Heritage, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-6.
