Basketball Recap: Sheldon Comes Up Short

Sheldon and Weston Ranch squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Sheldon had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Weston Ranch Cougars by a score of 56-53. It was the first time this season that the Huskies let down their fans at home.

Darrion Lilly was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 27 points and ten boards for Weston Ranch. Lilly continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Damarcus Cobb Jr., who posted 11 points.

Sheldon's defeat dropped their record down to 19-10. As for Weston Ranch, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season.

Sheldon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Weston Ranch, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-51 loss against Inderkum on the 21st.
