East Grand Rapids and Mt. Pleasant squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but East Grand Rapids had to settle for second. They took a 28-14 bruising from the Oilers. The Pioneers' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Several Pioneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josh McCune, who threw for 165 yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 76 yards. Dylan Buck was McCune's top target, picking up 107 receiving yards and one TD.

Isaiah Rodriguez was a one-man wrecking crew For Mt. Pleasant. as he picked up 120 receiving yards and three scores.

East Grand Rapids' loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Mt. Pleasant, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

East Grand Rapids does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mt. Pleasant, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lowell at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
