Basketball Recap: Owensboro Catholic Piles Up the Points Against Mclean County

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Nova, Owensboro Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the McLean County Cougars 72-25. That 47 point margin sets a new team best for the Aces this season.

Aubrey Randolph continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 of 10 en route to 18 points and six steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Allie Martson, who went 5 of 6 on her way to 12 points and five steals.

Owensboro Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.9 points per game. As for McLean County, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-9.

Owensboro Catholic will be taking part in a tournament against Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McLean County, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the McLean County Cougars duke it out with the Dawson Springs Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
