Basketball Game Preview: Dunlap Eagles vs. Limestone Rockets

Dunlap is a perfect 10-0 against Limestone since January of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will square off against the Rockets at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Wednesday, Dunlap was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 43-38 to Pleasant Plains. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Cardinals are ranked 24th).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 89-27, which was the final score in Limestone's tilt against Washington on Wednesday. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Limestone's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Dunlap, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.

Dunlap strolled past Limestone when the teams last played back in December of 2025 by a score of 68-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
