Football Recap: South County Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Trevion Campbell and Dylan Miller + How To Watch

If South County was riding high fresh off their 44-6 takedown of Hayfield two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Stallions lost 35-14 to the Highland Springs Springers on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Stallions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Springers are ranked eighth).

Dylan Miller and Trevion Campbell certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Miller threw for 371 yards and two TDs, while Campbell picked up 221 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Highland Springs found their leader in sophomore Devlin Davis, who rushed for 67 yards and a pair of scores.

South County now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Highland Springs, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South County will challenge West Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so the Stallions' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Highland Springs, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Phoebus at 7:00 p.m. on October 2.
