Volleyball Game Preview: Chula Vista Spartans vs. Grossmont Foothillers

The Chula Vista Spartans will take on the Grossmont Foothillers in a tournament on Saturday.

Chula Vista is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of El Camino.

Meanwhile, Grossmont was able to grind out a solid win over Mar Vista on Friday, taking the game 2-0. The Foothillers haven't had any issues with the Mariners recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Chula Vista better keep an eye on Ciarrah Doliente. She was instrumental in Grossmont's win, getting 14 digs and two assists.

Grossmont was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Grossmont's record is now 2-4. As for Chula Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
