Basketball Recap: Marion County Skates Past Phillips with Ease

Marion County posted their biggest victory since December 6, 2024 on Tuesday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 62-31 win over the Phillips Bears. Given the Red Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Bears are ranked 369th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory snapped Marion County's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-7 record. As for Phillips, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Hackleburg the next time they take the court. Phillips will host Hackleburg at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Marion County will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
