Volleyball Recap: Jourdanton Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

While Jourdanton's victory against Crystal City wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians/Squaws won by a set and slipped past the Javelinas 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians/Squaws have posted since August 12th.

Jourdanton was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-16, 17-25, 21-25, 25-16, 16-14.

Crystal City's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyssa Flores, who had 21 digs and one assist. Flores is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 16 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Jourdanton pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Crystal City, the loss snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 16-6 record.

Jourdanton and Crystal City should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Indians/Squaws (ranked 342nd) will meet Poteet (ranked 1377th) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Crystal City will square off against Lytle at 5:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (389 vs. 987).
