Preview: Bishop Moore Hornets vs. Lake Highland Prep Highlanders

The Bishop Moore Hornets's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Lake Highland Prep Highlanders on February 8th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bishop Moore had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They walked away with a 73-61 victory over the Panthers. Given Bishop Moore's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Mulberry is ranked 460th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bishop Moore's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Cameron Codio, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds, and Justin Suarez, who scored 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Suarez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mark Dadlani, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Lake Highland Prep had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They came out on top against Lake Region by a score of 66-59.

Bishop Moore has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Lake Highland Prep, their win bumped their record up to 21-3.

Bishop Moore came up short against Lake Highland Prep when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 55-47. Can Bishop Moore avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
