Recap: Jonesboro Cardinals vs. Forest Park Panthers
Even though the Jonesboro Cardinals have not done well against the Forest Park Panthers recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Jonesboro simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Forest Park 67-8 on the road. With Jonesboro ahead 33-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Jonesboro's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brianna Mason, who scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Mason continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Jones, who scored 15 points along with 4 steals.
The win was the fourth in a row for Jonesboro, bringing their record for this year to 6-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Forest Park, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jonesboro will take on Morrow at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Forest Park, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Alcovy at 6:00 p.m.
