Mesa will be up against a hot Sunnyslope team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Vikings took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 72-34 win over Boulder Creek. With the Vikings ahead 41-20 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Mesa on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Tucson High Magnet School out of the water with an 81-43 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Jackrabbits had established a 20-point advantage.

Mesa's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Sunnyslope, their win bumped their record up to an identical 4-1.

Sunnyslope didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Mesa when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 65-61 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Jackrabbits' John Petersen, who went 12-for-14 on his way to 27 points and eight rebounds.
