Basketball Recap: Bellaire Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Catholic Central, Bellaire was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They secured a 60-56 W over the Weir Red Riders.

Bellaire found their leader in sophomore Raekwon Pettigrew, who went 10 of 20 to rack up 30 points along with seven boards and five steals. Pettigrew is becoming a predictor of Bellaire's success: when he posts at least 25 points the team is 7-2 (and 3-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Keegan Davis, who posted seven points and nine rebounds.

Bellaire's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Weir, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-14.

Coming up, Bellaire will head out to square off against Shenandoah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Weir, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wheeling Park at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
