Recap: S & S Consolidated Rams vs. Healdton Bulldogs
The S & S Consolidated Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Healdton.
S & S Consolidated's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Turner, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds. Turner scored a full 30% of S & S Consolidated's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Joe Orr was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.
Healdton found their leader in underclassman Jamiel Franklin, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Franklin has scored at least 25% of Healdton's points. Another player making a difference was Cade Ellis, who scored 7 points along with 11 rebounds.
S & S Consolidated has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Healdton, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. S & S Consolidated is on the road again on Friday and play against Forestburg at 2:30 p.m. on December 8th. As for Healdton, they will challenge Thackerville at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
