Recap: New Hope Academy vs. Springdale Prep Lions
New Hope Academy waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They strolled past Springdale Prep with points to spare, taking the game 84-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
New Hope Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Haki Muhammad out in front who scored 31 points. Muhammad hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of DJ Thomas, who scored 24 points.
New Hope Academy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-13 record this season. As for Springdale Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.
New Hope Academy will square off against Varsity Opponent at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Springdale Prep, they will be playing at home against Lanham Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lanham Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Springdale Prep in Maryland (Lanham Christian is ranked 16th, while Springdale Prep is ranked 96th).
