Marian Catholic waltzed into their contest Saturday with five straight wins but they left with six. Everything went their way against Lehigh Valley Academy as Marian Catholic made off with a 69-48 victory. Considering Marian Catholic has won three matches by more than 20 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

It was another big night for Julius Currie, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Rodino, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Lehigh Valley Academy saw an underclassman step up: Ziyon Wilkins scored 21 points. Wilkins scored a full 43.8% of Lehigh Valley Academy's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Davien Orozco, who scored nine points.

Marian Catholic's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Lehigh Valley Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Marian Catholic will finish 2023 at home by hosting Panther Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Panther Valley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56 points per game. Lehigh Valley Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Great Valley at 11:00 a.m. on December 28, 2023. Great Valley is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
