Flag Football Recap: Zenobia Witt's Menacing Defense Leads Eaglecrest over Mullen

Eaglecrest lost to Mullen back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Raptors walked away with a 14-6 win over the Mustangs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raptors.

Naomi Emecheta was nothing short of spectacular: she rushed for 121 yards and one score on only 14 carries, and also threw for 106 yards and one touchdown while completing 78.9% of her passes. Those 121 rushing yards gave her a new career-high.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Eaglecrest's defense and their 11 sacks. Zenobia Witt led the group effort, picking up four of those sacks all by herself. Jillian Ton is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Eaglecrest picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-11. As for Mullen, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Coming up, Eaglecrest will square off against Arapahoe at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors' defense has only allowed 14.9 points per game this season, so the Raptors' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Mullen, they will challenge Cherokee Trail at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
