Softball Game Preview: Spring Woods Tigers vs. Madison Marlins

The Spring Woods Tigers will square off against the Madison Marlins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Spring Woods is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Spring Woods got the win against Austin by a conclusive 12-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Addison Bruton and Kylie Leatham did most of the damage at the plate: Bruton scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Leatham scored three runs while going 1-for-4. That's the most runs Leatham has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Sophia Cisneros, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Spring Woods hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 16-0 to Milby.

Madison's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Spring Woods, their victory bumped their record up to 9-14.

Everything went Spring Woods' way against Madison in their previous matchup back in March, as Spring Woods made off with a 19-0 win. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Marlins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
