Baseball Recap: Hodgdon Comes Up Short

After flying high against Southern Aroostook last Thursday, Hodgdon came back down to earth. The Hawks fell just short of the Wisdom Pioneers by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pioneers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Landon Botting made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI. Botting is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Tuttle, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases.

Hodgdon now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Wisdom, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hodgdon will square off against Fort Fairfield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wisdom, they will face off against Fort Kent at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
