Volleyball Game Preview: Harriton Rams vs. Penncrest Lions

Harriton hasn't had much luck against Penncrest recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Rams will be playing at home against the Lions at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Friday, Harriton didn't have quite enough to beat Springfield and fell 3-2.

Harriton actually scored more points across those five sets (115-112), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 29-27, 17-25, 25-22, 23-25, 18-16.

Harriton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ava Katrinak, who had 17 digs and three aces, and Irene Curry, who had 19 digs and eight kills. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Zhang, who had seven digs and four aces.

Meanwhile, Penncrest didn't have quite enough to beat Marple Newtown on Wednesday and fell 3-2.

Penncrest wouldn't go down easily and took Marple Newtown into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 23-25, 23-25, 15-10.

Penncrest's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Harriton, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
