Basketball Recap: KIPP Newark Lab Takes a Loss

KIPP Newark Lab was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 64-46 bruising from the American History Eagles.

American History's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ah'Zeah Woodard, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 steals. Those 11 steals gave Woodard a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Basheer Branch, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

KIPP Newark Lab's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for American History, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

KIPP Newark Lab will head out on the road to square off against Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for American History, they will face off against People's Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. American History is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.2 points per game this season.
