Basketball Recap: Richmond Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Richmond, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They managed a 56-52 win over the Connersville Spartans on Saturday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Red Devils' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Spartans are ranked 79th).

Connersville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Jones, who went 6 of 14 en route to 16 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Serenity Pennington, who posted 12 points.

Richmond's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Connersville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

Richmond will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Marion at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. As for Connersville, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-46 victory against Charlestown on the 28th.
