Basketball Game Preview: Eastwood Troopers vs. Trinity Christian Lions

The Eastwood Troopers and the Trinity Christian Lions will round out the year against one another at at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eastwood is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Last Friday, Eastwood escaped with a win against Pebble Hills by the margin of a single free throw, 50-49.

Devin Falk-Ramirez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 of 15 en route to 17 points. His evening made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Bennett, who posted 11 points.

Eastwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Meanwhile, Trinity Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Grace Prep on Saturday and fell 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Trinity Christian has suffered against Grace Prep since March 4, 2022.

Eastwood has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Trinity Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.

Eastwood came up short against Trinity Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2014, falling 83-70. Can Eastwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
