Baseball Recap: Clovis West Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Clovis West ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Clovis East Timberwolves. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Timberwolves recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Peyton Miscione was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other pitching news, Andrew Griffin looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Marcus Jackson, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Nolin Santillan was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Clovis West's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Clovis East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-4 record this season.
