Basketball Recap: Hemingway Tigers vs. Virtus Academy Wolves
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Scott's Branch, Hemingway was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Virtus Academy Wolves 52-19. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 67-40 on Monday.
Hemingway found their leader in freshman Quinton Hannah, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 14 points. Khalil Brown was another key player, putting up four points in addition to six boards and three steals.
Virtus Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colin Williamson, who posted eight points.
Hemingway now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Virtus Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Coming up, Hemingway will venture away from home to take on Kingstree at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Virtus Academy, they will welcome Heathwood Hall Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
