Basketball Recap: Eastside Catholic Falls Short of Rainier Beach in the Playoffs

Eastside Catholic and Rainier Beach squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Eastside Catholic had to settle for second. They had to suffer through an 82-45 loss at the hands of the Rainier Beach Vikings. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Crusaders who fell 84-81 when the teams previously met back in February.

Eastside Catholic's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-16. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 18-8 Garfield (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 86% over those games). As for Rainier Beach, their win bumped their record up to 28-3.

When Eastside Catholic and Rainier Beach next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Eastside Catholic will try to stop Garfield's three-game winning streak when they meet at 4:00 p.m. on April 11th. Similarly, Rainier Beach will take on Seattle Prep and their three-game winning streak at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday.
