Softball Recap: Bennett Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Bennett extended their winning streak to six on Tuesday, bumping them up to 6-3. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 13-12 W against the Parkside Rams. The game was the first time the Clippers have beaten the Rams on their field since April 1, 2019.

As for Parkside, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5-1. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (11), they still had to take the loss.

For Parkside's part, Brecklyn Bounds put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Bounds has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Julia Bright made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Emma Rickards also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bennett will take on Queen Anne's County at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Clippers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Parkside, they will face off against Kent Island at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Buccaneers have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
