Basketball Game Preview: Willits Wolverines vs. Round Valley Mustangs

The Willits Wolverines will take on the Round Valley Mustangs in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Willits is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering South Fork just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a blow against the Cubs, falling 67-32. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1097th, while the Cubs are ranked 503rd).

Meanwhile, Round Valley posted their biggest victory since February 8th on Saturday. They breezed by Faith Christian to the tune of 67-21.

The win got Round Valley back to even at 4-4. As for Willits, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Willits lost to Round Valley on the road by a decisive 60-44 margin in their previous meeting on December 4th. Can Willits avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
