Softball Recap: Oak Hill Wins Going Away Against Mount Abram

Oak Hill won the last time they faced Mount Abram and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Raiders blew past the Roadrunners 17-2. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won five matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Izzy Whitaker made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Oak Hill let Sydney Wood and Ava Rivet run wild. Wood went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs, while Rivet went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Wood a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Olivia French, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Oak Hill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got Oak Hill back to even at 8-8. As for Mount Abram, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-15.

As of now, neither Oak Hill nor the Roadrunners have any future games scheduled.
