Basketball Game Preview: South Lenoir Blue Devils vs. Dixon Bulldogs

The South Lenoir Blue Devils will venture away from home to take on the Dixon Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

South Lenoir is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight games dating back to last season last Tuesday. They were beaten by Dixon 54-27. The Blue Devils were down 48-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

South Lenoir better focus on containing Lily Borden and Leah Parker as the pair were huge in Dixon's win. Borden almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine rebounds, while Parker posted six points along with eight boards and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Borden has scored at least a third of Dixon's points. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Brown, who earned seven points in addition to 12 boards and three steals.

Dixon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in ten consecutive games dating back to last season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Dixon fell to 5-1. As for South Lenoir, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

South Lenoir took a serious blow against Dixon in their previous meeting last Tuesday, falling 54-27. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
