The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Duanesburg nor Berne-Knox-Westerlo made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Bulldogs 3-2. That's the first time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 3-2 victory on Thursday.

Genevieve Rickert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Duanesburg's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gabby DeLeon, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

The victory snapped Duanesburg's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-4 record. As for Berne-Knox-Westerlo, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 10-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Duanesburg beat the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 later that day.
