Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mount Dora Christian Academy walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Orangewood Christian Rams 4-2. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Mount Dora Christian Academy got a great performance from Ethan Priest as he struck out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). Priest also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Bulldogs are 8-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 10-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Zach Opgenorth was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Mount Dora Christian Academy pushed their record up to 18-13 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Orangewood Christian, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 19-10 record.

Mount Dora Christian Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rams: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
