Preview: Martin County Knights vs. Perquimans Pirates
The Martin County Knights will be playing at home against the Perquimans Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Martin County will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
In what's become a running theme this season, Martin County gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They claimed a resounding 70-21 win over North East Carolina Prep at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-11.
Martin County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kel'javious Moore, who scored 16 points along with seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moore has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Matthewson, who scored 11 points along with six steals and five assists.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Perquimans beat Gates County 51-47 on Wednesday. The win was just what Perquimans needed coming off of a 76-25 loss in their prior game.
Martin County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Perquimans, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.
