Recap: Sulphur Springs Wildcats vs. Anna Coyotes
After a string of seven wins, The Sulphur Springs Wildcats''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 30-16 bruising from Anna. While losing is never fun, Sulphur Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 280th, while Anna is ranked 84th).
Brady Driver rushed for 65 yards and two touchdowns. Skylar Lewis was his top target, picking up 29 receiving yards.
It was another big night for Ziondre Williams, who threw for 150 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Williams hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. George Rogers was in the mix as well, providing Anna with two touchdowns.
Sulphur Springs' loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Anna, their win was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-1.
Sulphur Springs will square off against Carter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Carter's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four matchups. As for Anna, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wilmer-Hutchins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
