Basketball Game Preview: Mercer Cardinals vs. Gilman City Hawks

Mercer is 10-0 against Gilman City since February of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Mercer Cardinals will look to defend their home court against the Gilman City Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mercer is coming into the matchup on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight victories. They enjoyed a cozy 49-33 win over North Harrison on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, everything went Gilman City's way against North Harrison last Thursday as Gilman City made off with a 53-30 victory. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 22 points or more this season.

Mercer's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Gilman City, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Everything came up roses for Mercer against Gilman City in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 56-27 win. Will Mercer repeat their success, or does Gilman City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
