Volleyball Recap: Caney Creek Takes a Loss

Caney Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Montgomery Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2021.

Caney Creek's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Montgomery, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

Caney Creek and Montgomery should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Panthers will face off against Lamar at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (179 vs. 476). Meanwhile, Montgomery (ranked 111th) will meet Splendora (ranked 755th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
