Baseball Game Preview: St. Dominic Saints vs. Waynflete Flyers

The St. Dominic Saints will venture away from home to square off against the Waynflete Flyers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Waynflete took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Dominic, who comes in off a win.

St. Dominic took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top against Buckfield by a score of 6-1. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Bucks recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Waynflete didn't have quite enough to beat Old Orchard Beach on Monday and fell 10-9. The loss put an end to the Flyers' undefeated start to the season.

St. Dominic pushed their record up to 1-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Waynflete, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

St. Dominic couldn't quite get it done against Waynflete when the teams last played back in May of 2023 as they fell 8-4. Can the Saints avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
