The Northeast Vikings fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Pinellas Park Patriots on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Patriots 50-44. Northeast just can't catch a break and has now endured seven defeats in a row.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jy'Aira Washington, who scored 23 points along with three steals. Pinellas Park got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ja?naija Roney out in front who scored 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Marke, who scored 14 points.

Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Pinellas Park, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northeast will take on Gibbs at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gibbs presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Northeast in Florida (Gibbs is ranked 115th, while Northeast is ranked 541st). As for Pinellas Park, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Largo at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Largo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Tuesday.
