Basketball Game Preview: Wellington School Jaguars vs. Berne Union Rockets

The Wellington School Jaguars and the Berne Union Rockets will compete for holiday cheer at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Wellington School was able to grind out a solid win over Dunbar, taking the game 49-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jaguars.

Wellington School relied on the efforts of Dea Singh, who shot 7-for-9 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 boards, and Elodie Ware, who went 8 of 16 on her way to 21 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Singh a new career-high in boards.

Meanwhile, Berne Union came into Wednesday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They pulled ahead with a 34-33 photo finish over Miller on Wednesday.

Wellington School pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Berne Union, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-5.
