Soccer Game Preview: Pomperaug vs. Newtown + How To Watch

The Pomperaug Panthers will square off against the Newtown Nighthawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Pomperaug is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Bunnell just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They and the Bulldogs finished up their contest with a 0-0 draw. The result kept Pomperaug happy, as they haven't lost a game since September 27th.

Meanwhile, Newtown faced Bethel in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Nighthawks played to a draw too, finishing 1-1 against the Wildcats. The draw was nothing new for Newtown, who haven't lost a match since September 25th.

With that draw, Pomperaug's record moves to 10-6-2. Meanwhile, Newtown's record is now 10-1-2.
