Preview: Jackson-Reed Tigers vs. O'Neal Falcons
The Jackson-Reed Tigers are on the road again on Wednesday and play against the O'Neal Falcons at 1:00 p.m. on December 27th. Hopefully Jackson-Reed focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 39 on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, Jackson-Reed faced Dunbar in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Jackson-Reed received a tough blow as they fell 48-33 to Dunbar. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jackson-Reed in their matchups with Dunbar: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Jackson-Reed saw an underclassman step up: Aminyah Muhammed scored eight points along with ten rebounds. Muhammed is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, O'Neal put another one in the bag last Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 66-21 win over Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill on the road. Considering O'Neal has won 11 matches by more than 21 points this season, last Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jackson-Reed's loss dropped their record down to 5-2-1. As for O'Neal, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
