Baseball Game Preview: Syracuse Titans vs. Davis Darts

For the second straight game, Syracuse will face off against Davis. The Titans will face off against the Darts at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Syracuse has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Syracuse came up short against Davis on Tuesday, falling 17-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Titans have suffered against the Darts since May 8, 2023.

For Davis' part, Wally Grant was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Grant has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March.

In other batting news, Davis got a massive performance out of Brody Mcguire, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Tyson Baggett, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Davis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Davis and bumps their season record up to 7-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Syracuse, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-6.
