Soccer Game Preview: Jesuit vs. Mountainside

For the first time this season, Jesuit will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out on the road to square off against the Mountainside Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Jesuit's last five matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Jesuit is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oregon's top teams: Ashland, who was ranked 16th at the time (Jesuit was ranked 18th). The Crusaders fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Mountainside unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Westview by a score of 3-2.

Jesuit's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3-3. As for Mountainside, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Jesuit took their win against Mountainside in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 5-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
