Basketball Recap: Tooele Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Tooele won against Murray last Friday with 54 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Tooele Buffaloes blew past the Hillcrest Huskies 54-33. That's more bragging rights for the Buffaloes, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tooele to victory, but perhaps none more so than Camila Lora, who posted 11 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Lora is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Kennedy Searle was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Tooele was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Hillcrest lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Dayana Mulamba, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Josie Haddock, who earned eight points.

The win (which was Tooele's fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.6 points per game. As for Hillcrest, they dropped their record down to 5-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Tooele will host Stansbury at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hillcrest, they will venture away from home to face off against Murray at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
