Baseball Recap: Mcclintock Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

McClintock won the last time they faced Metro Tech and things went their way on Thursday too. The Chargers were the clear victors by a 23-1 margin over the Knights. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Javier Alvarado was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one home run and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, McClintock let Lucas Wisehart and Markus Lopez run wild. Wisehart went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double, while Lopez went 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most runs Lopez has posted since back in March. Cole Rentschler was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

McClintock hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Metro Tech struck out eight times.

McClintock has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Metro Tech, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

McClintock didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-2 victory against Glendale on the 18th. As for Metro Tech, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-5 win against Central on the 22nd.
