Basketball Recap: Alliance Comes Up Short

Alliance was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 46-13 loss at the hands of the Chaney Cowboys. The Aviators were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-11.

Chaney found their leader in freshman Simone Lewis, who went 11 of 19 en route to 24 points and five boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lewis has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Janiah Eiland, who posted 12 points and six rebounds.

Alliance's defeat dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Chaney, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

Alliance wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 52-6 loss against Marlington on the 29th. Chaney has also already played their next game, a 72-49 defeat against Rootstown on the 29th.
