Softball Recap: Desert Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Desert Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 15-8 to the Santa Rosa Academy Rangers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rangers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-3 back in March.

Phoebe Thorpe stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Madison Smith was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Desert Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Santa Rosa Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Desert Christian Academy has already played their next contest, an 18-6 defeat against San Jacinto Valley Academy on the 9th. As for Santa Rosa Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 18-4 victory against California Military Institute on the 9th.
