Elianna Rouland made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more doubles the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, Mynderse Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 25-3 margin over the Mustangs. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won five contests by nine runs or more so far this season.
Kyah Lajewski was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, five RBI, and one triple. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Cheyenne Mangum was another key player, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Mynderse Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .720. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Mynderse Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Palmyra-Macedon, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Palmyra-Macedon has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .455. However, it's not like Mynderse Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .502. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Palmyra-Macedon might still be hurting after the 21-10 loss they got from Mynderse Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Red Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
