Soccer Recap: Marbury Comes Up Short

Marbury was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Stanhope Elmore Mustangs, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Marbury can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Stanhope Elmore are ranked tenth).

Marbury now has a losing record of 4-5-3. As for Stanhope Elmore, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marbury will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Beauregard at 7:00 p.m. on April 1. Marbury will be up against Beauregard's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.25 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Stanhope Elmore, they will take on Enterprise at 7:30 p.m. on the 31st.
